You will find information below regarding nominating/applying to NAP's three categories of membership. Click on the links for more information about each membership.


 

Nominations

You will need to login to your NAP member account in order to submit your nomination. Please contact us if you need assistance in resetting your password.

We encourage you to reach out to your nominee and assist them with the nomination process. Please encourage them to prepare their application for review and ensure they provide information regarding their interprofessional contributions. Their CV should demonstrate these elements as appropriate

After completing the nomination process you will receive a confirmation email. NAP Headquarters will contact your nominee within 7-10 business days.

Nominate a Colleague for NAP Distinguished Fellowship

To nominate a distinguished professional to one of the academies, you must be an active NAP member. Nominees should be individuals who are committed to 1) interprofessional practice and 2) accessible, affordable healthcare for all. Fellow nominees must also be US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliensPer NAP bylaws, those who qualify to be Fellows but are not US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliens, may be inducted as Affiliate Members. Affiliate Members are entitled to all privileges of membership except voting and holding office. The same nomination process applies.

You will need to know the following information about your nominee:

  • Full Name
  • Organization or Practice Name, if applicable
  • The appropriate Academy to which they should apply
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number

As a courtesy, please notify the leadership of the academy, if you nominated someone to a different academy that is not your own.

In the circumstance that the applicant does not meet the qualifications for Fellow, the applicant will be considered for Professional Membership.

Nominate a Professional Member

Healthcare professionals from one of NAP's academies who take interest in interdisciplinary healthcare issues and have 5 or more years of experience making contributions to their field may qualify for Professional Membership. Professional Member nominees must also be US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliensProfessional Membership requires nomination by self or colleague (an active NAP member), then review and approval of the academy.

  • The appropriate Academy to which they should apply

Applications

In order to apply for membership in NAP, you must first have an online account. You may already have an online account if you have attended a NAP event in the past year, or you have previously applied for membership. If you do not have a user account, please go to New Visitor Registration, create an account, and then proceed to the appropriate application.

Apply to Become a Distinguished Fellow

To submit an application to become a NAP Distinguished Fellow, you must first be nominated. You will be asked to complete the online application and submit the $100 administrative processing fee. Please have the following three documents prepared (in PDF or Word format) before beginning your application:

In the circumstance that you are not extended Fellow status, your application will be considered for Professional Membership.

Per NAP bylaws, those who qualify to be Fellows but are not US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliens may be inducted as Affiliate Members. Affiliate Members are entitled to all privileges of membership except voting and holding office. The same nomination and application process applies.

Distinguished Fellow Annual Dues: $275, in addition to academy dues.

Apply to Become a Professional Member

You will be asked to complete the online application and submit the $50 administrative processing fee. Please have the following three documents prepared before beginning your application:

Applicants for Professional Members must be US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliens.
Professional Member Annual Dues: $220, in addition to academy dues.

Apply to Become an Associate Member

Associate Members may be healthcare professionals from any field who take interest in interdisciplinary healthcare issues, and may also be an individual who:

  • does not meet the requirements to become a Distinguished Fellow or Professional Member
  • a current student
  • currently does not fit under the Academy system

If you support the tenets of interprofessional practice and NAP's mission, vision, and values, please consider joining NAP as an Associate Member. A nomination is not required, nor is US citizenship, permanent resident alien status, or resident alien status. Simply answer a few questions, pay your dues, and you can join today.

Associate Member Annual Dues: $140
