  • The subcommittee restructured its operations to strengthen its impact on national maternal health outcomes. The group’s reformed workstream centers on compiling and analyzing evidence-based screening tools and protocols relevant to social determinants of health and maternal mortality and morbidity, with a special focus on gaps and omissions in current practice. This subcommittee is developing a compendium of screening tools addressing social determinants of health and maternal mortality. Key initiatives include identifying gaps in current practices and producing policy-relevant recommendations. Goals include: publication, forum presentation, and launching an online repository by 2026.

  • Every person deserves optimal health and accessible, comprehensive care. Through interprofessional collaboration, this sub-committee is implementing projects targeting barriers to care: developing clinical guidelines for preventing failure-to-rescue in older adults, mobile healthcare toolkits for rural communities, educational resources for faculty on developmental disabilities, policy advocacy for uninsured populations, and evidence-based frameworks for interprofessional student education related to healthcare access. These initiatives advance Healthy People 2030's goal of reducing unmet healthcare needs.
