National Academies of Practice Celebrates National Interprofessional Health Care Month
Lexington, KY -- The National Academies of Practice (NAP), uniting leading practitioners, scholars, and policy advocates from 17 healthcare professions, proudly celebrates National Interprofessional Healthcare Month.
NAP's diverse membership, spanning Athletic Training, Audiology, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Oral Health, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physicians, Podiatric Medicine, Psychology, Public Health, Respiratory Care, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, and Veterinary Medicine, is dedicated to breaking down healthcare silos through collaborative practice. Our mission: to advance interprofessional education, scholarship, research, practice, and public policy, ultimately improving healthcare for all.
Since 2016, when NAP leaders officially designated April as National Interprofessional Healthcare Month, we've been committed to raising awareness about the critical role of interprofessional collaboration in healthcare delivery, research, education, and policy.
Throughout April, NAP will highlight #IPHCMonth on LinkedIn and X, showcasing the power of interprofessionalism. Our members are also demonstrating their commitment by wearing NAP lapel pins daily, with a special display of NAP Fellow medallions on April 16th.
Across campuses and communities, NAP members are actively engaging in interprofessional activities, sharing the #IPHCMonth proclamation, and recognizing outstanding colleagues through NAP fellowship nominations.
View the proclamation on NAP’s website.
